Training for Residents in Ipswich

The Ipswich program is designed to help you gain an entry-level qualification and get back into the workforce in the Home and Community Care, Transport and Distribution, and Hospitality sectors. These courses are 100% funded by the Government, meaning you don’t have to pay any fees.

We have several training options in Ipswich that are funded by the Commonwealth and QLD Government including the Productivity Places Program (PPP) and our own HEAT (Host Employment And Training) program, unique to Queensland. Each program has different eligibility criteria. At your initial interview, we will assess your situation and determine which funding you are eligible for.

All training ensures you complete a nationally recognised qualification in an industry that has been identified as having a skills shortage. That means your chances of gaining employment after you have a qualification are excellent.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this training, you must live in the Ipswich region and be from one of the following groups:

  • Parents & Carers returning to the workforce
  • Long term unemployed
  • Registerd with a Job Services Australia provider
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • From a non-English speaking background
  • Mature Age participants
  • People with a disability

Our community program coordinator will confirm you eligibility at your initial interview. Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for a qualification in either the PPP or HEAT listings below.
During this program, you will be involved in a mix of accredited training, job preparation and job placement services. You will have an initial assessment covering your English language and numeracy skills, suitability, aptitude and your existing skills. We’ll also talk about your interests and try to match them with your training.
