An important component of this programme is the development of cultural
fluency, which is much more important than language skills. We
emphasise these skills throughout the programme, as culture affects all
aspects of life, including professional networking and interview
techniques.
HEAT can also provide
assistance with development of curriculum vitae and applications if
needed. People who join HEAT are also automatically available to our
recruitment division as candidates.
There is the opportunity for
around half of the HEAT group to participate in a Community Enrichment
programme. If you have the appropriate skills and experience, you may
be invited to assist one of our non-profit Community Partners on a
special project. This assistance would be a full-time, paid placement
for a period of up to 65 working days, where you would be employed in
your own field of expertise.
Organisations assisted have included:
- 4MBS Classic FM Radio
- Australian Industry Group
- Australian Taxation Office
- Department of Emergency Services
- Golden Years Centre
- Griffith University
- Hepatitis C Council of Queensland
- Holy Cross Laundry
- Lifeline
|
