As an important part of the Sisters of Mercy, we are committed to a holistic approach to training and recruitment in response to changing community needs. To serve this mission we must also initiate and embody change. We strive to improve how we deliver employment and training, how we keep knowledge and skills relevant, how we advance the lives of our trainees and partners. But why we do so never changes—for God and humanity.

We are not unique in providing compassionate service to the needy. But since 1989, what has distinguished Bridgeworks is our spirited determination to fulfil this vocation regardless of the financial, political or social challenges of the times. In delivering the ministry of Jesus we not only respond to, but actively seek to support individuals and families from all backgrounds, disadvantaged by various circumstances. These are the people often forgotten and ignored by mainstream employment and training providers—the projects considered too risky, too difficult, too costly.

Our endeavour is to continue to transform frontiers into familiar ground. The concerted pursuit of innovation—to discover, improve, adopt, and adapt—makes participating in change at Bridgeworks exciting and fulfilling.
An integrated mission program ensures our values and the Catholic Church’s guidelines for ethical practice are reflected in all that we do.
